Background
My mom was very proud of her Alaskan roots and caring for those in the state. Mary, or those that have known her since my kids were born as “AHNA” had a genuine heart and a passion for helping others. Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of her kindness to others. She helped to raise over 50 foster kids and especially those that were dealing with abuse and I believe made a huge difference is so many lives. As a teenager, she supported women and girls who had been sexually assaulted and maned a crisis line every Thursday night for an organization in Anchorage, Alaska called Standing Together Against Rape (STAR). She lived her life to help others, so in this time of passing, I hope that we can continue to help others in need. So for those that would like to honor her, please consider making a donation to this organization which is near and dear to her heart so they can continue to go on doing their incredible work.
