Mary “Tiny” LaRusa

November 12, 1938 – April 14, 2025

Mary “Tiny” LaRusa, 86, a lifelong resident of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Mary worked many dedicated years with the U.S. Treasury Department. She was known for her love of art, gardening, and her deep Catholic faith, which guided her life and brought comfort to those around her.

Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert LaRusa and Bobby Calma, and her parents, June and William. She is survived by her children, Karen Anderson, Anne Calma, and Steve Calma, and by her cherished grandchildren: Emily, Jessica, Robert, Jackie, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Justin, Christopher, and Brian.

A celebration of life will be held on April 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House, an organization close to Mary’s heart.
