Mary's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Thompson, a beloved and cherished member of our community who left us on June 27, 2025. Born on May 14, 1954, Mary lived a remarkable life that was anchored in unwavering faith, love for family, and a profound understanding of the essence of community service.

A devoted attendee at First Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Mary's spiritual journey was a true testament to her deep-seated faith. Her presence filled the church with an overwhelming sense of unity and love. She dedicated her life to the service of others, and her journey strengthened the faith of those around her.

Mary also served as a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club, where she was not just a helper, but a beacon of hope and inspiration for many. She was keen on empowering the young generation, instilling in them values of respect, kindness, and the importance of lending a helping hand to those in need.

Those who knew Mary best often described her as caring, a testament to her altruistic nature. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel loved, valued, and worthwhile. Indeed, her heart knew no bounds when it came to expressing love and generosity.

One of the greatest lessons Mary shared was the importance of family values. She believed that family was the cornerstone of society, and modelled this in her own life. She reminded us that love and respect within a family set the foundation for a more loving and understanding world.

In memory of Mary Thompson, let’s honor her legacy by living out the lessons she imparted upon us. May we embody her spirit of service, caring nature, and dedication to family values. She will be sorely missed, yet her light will forever shine in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
