Mary's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mary Sullivan (McCarty), born on September 5, 1972, who left us on August 3, 2024. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that captured the hearts of everyone she met.
A woman of boundless energy and zest for life, Mary loved cooking and was particularly fond of savory breakfasts like pizza and burgers. Her love for bacon was profound, and her filet mignon recipe was renowned. Mary enjoyed sparking interesting conversations by reading random questions from flip books, and her musical preferences included timeless tracks like "Yellow Ledbetter," "Seven Bridges Road," and "Life in the Fast Lane."
A rare exception in the era of streaming, Mary watched little TV aside from football. Her favorite pieces of art ranged from jewelry to her mother's own masterpieces, reflecting her eclectic tastes. A passionate supporter of football, she cheered for any team, with a special fondness for the Broncos. When it came to board games, Yahtzee and bowling were her go-to choices for a good time.
Mary was often found at Star Reach (the McCarty property), riding her red ATV, cooking, hosting, sunbathing, or indulging in a pedicure. Her heart rejoiced at anything tropical, and she cherished memories of scuba diving in Puerto Rico with her significant other, David Graham.
Above all, Mary was a dedicated advocate for Huntington's Disease, a cause close to her heart. Her favorite color was periwinkle, reflecting her bubbly, fun, full-of-life personality, along with her emotional, loving, strong, and determined nature.
Mary is survived by her father, Clem; her children, Christina and Christopher; her significant other, David Graham; her ex-husband, Tim Sullivan; her sister, Carin; her brother, Matt; her niece, Devyn and her nephew Jaden. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary McCarty (Brady). Mary leaves behind a cherished legacy through her family, including her two granddaughters and multiple generations who loved her dearly and played a significant role in her life. She will be deeply missed by her friends and extended family, all of whom hold her memory close to their hearts.
In the radiant tapestry of her life, each thread was woven with love, resilience, and an undying spirit that will continue to inspire us. Her laughter will echo in our hearts, and she will be remembered with every beat. May her soul rest in peace.
