Mary's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Searcy, a woman of joyous spirit and boundless love. Born on April 24, 1951, Mary lived a life defined by resilience, faith, and an immediate sense of empathy for all.
Mary received her education in the public schools of Taylor County. At an early age, she met her childhood sweet heart, the late, Robert “Bobby” Edge. Throughout their journey together, two kids were born , forming a foundation of family she deeply cherished.
Mary had a spirit that radiated love and joy. She enjoyed attending church and spending time with here loved ones. She was very well known for pouring life into her loved ones and any stranger that came her way with her welcoming nature.
On April 21, 2026, Mary bid us a quiet goodbye, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire many generations to come.
Her teachings will be carried on, reiterating the value of never giving up and finding the strength to face life's adversities in prayer and faith. Throughout her life, Mary created a nurturing environment where her love for her family and her faith became the cornerstone of their strength and determination. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her two kids, James Searcy of Howard, GA and Breandrea Searcy of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Jeremy Dugger and Jerimia Dugger both of Columbus, GA and Steven Troutman of Warner Robins, GA; two great-grandkids, Sekani Troutman and Xariyah Troutman; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives.
Mary's viewing will take place on April 25, 2026, from 3:30 PM at Terry Family Funeral Home LLC. A place she held close to her heart, as it was there where the community often shared joyous moments and comforted each other in times of sorrow.
Join us to celebrate Mary’s inspiring life at the Funeral service scheduled to take place on April 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Howard Church. It is here we will share memories, offer comfort and support to one another, and celebrate the journey that Mary embarked on throughout her life.
Following the Funeral service, Mary will be laid to rest during a Burial ceremony on April 26, 2026, at 2202 Wesley Church Rd. We invite all that knew Mary to come and pay their respects, helping us commemorate a woman whose love, resilience, and faith touched us all deeply.
Mary Searcy was a woman who left an enduring legacy of love and resilience. She will be missed by many, every day, but her teachings and her joyous spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Surely, she will continue to guide us from heaven, just as she did here on earth.
