Mary's obituary

Mary Ann Savary, age 79, native of West Virginia, passed away on December 1, 2019. Mary Ann was born in Worth, West Virginia, the daughter of Donato (Nick) Riciotto and Rosina (Rose) Alfiere. She moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland in 1954 and lived there until 1993 when she moved to Collierville, Tennessee, which she called home.

She was a mother, a wife, Sunday School teacher, loyal friend and an example of unconditional love. To many of her friends and relatives, she was one of the strongest women they would ever know, as she persevered after the death of both her parents and three of her children. She operated her Collierville home based business with her passion for sewing, crocheting and crafting. She was a Christian and a devote lover of Christ. At the time of her death she was surrounded by loved ones, and is in heaven waiting to see us all.

Mary Ann is predeceased by her children Danny, Kathy and Nathan, her parents, Nick, Rose, Stepmother Opal and sisters Virginia “Cookie” and Ruth Gay.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, James Calvert Savary of 44 years. They were married on February 8, 1990 at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel in Maui, Hawaii.

Mary Ann is lovingly remembered by her children, Karen (Bill) Markley, Kim Zolnay (Randy Singleton), Kristine (Michael) McCaslin, step children James Savary, Shasta (Bill) Curtis, Annie Savary Bateman. Mary Ann is also remembered by her grandchildren, Justin, Nikki, Brandon, Jackie, Karrie (Scott), Billy (Jessica), Beau (Hope), Jessy, Zane, Kailee, Kristina, Samantha and 19 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery Fund. Donations may be mailed to the church.
