Mary's obituary
Mary Elizabeth (Ogilvie) DiFlavis 03/15/44-12/14/23
Daughter of James Ogilvie and Ruth (Smith) Wilson. Born March 15th, 1944 in Columbus Indiana, graduated Columbus High School in Columbus Indiana and attended Indiana University for Interior Design. Mary owned a furniture store in both Hudson and Spring Hill, Florida, and helped with the initial development of Spring Hill with many of the model homes she carefully decorated. She also worked at Matter Brothers in Tarpon Springs.
Mary is survived by her husband Bennie DiFlavis of Hudson Florida, and her two daughters, Tammie DiFlavis & Angela Turnbull, predeceased by two sons, Rex Davis and Lewis Davis. Mary had 4 grandchildren; Antonio Basauri, Dale Turnbull, Laurel Turnbull and Violet Davis. Mary had 5 great grandchildren; Antonio, Moses, Victoria, Isabella and Elizabeth.
Proud mother, grandmother & great grandma - all who knew her called her Mom Mary. She loved her family & friends, of which she had many. Mary loved to help anyone in need, especially the homeless or less fortunate. Beautiful, loving, and caring, with a heart of gold. Mary was a born again Christian who attended the First Baptist Church in New Port Richey, from the time it was on the circle in downtown New Port Richey. She loved Jesus, and we have no doubt she led many to him, and she will have many jewels in her crown. Mary was a proud patriot, and loved her country and President Trump.
Mary will be greatly missed by the many lives shes touched throughout her 79 years here on earth.
The cornerstone of Mary's personality was the belief of treating others as one would like to be treated. This wisdom she lived by became a mantra for those around her, colouring their lives with the spirit of empathy she embodied. Her lessons of kindness and mutual respect are the guiding lights passed onto her family and those who had the privilege to know her.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of kindness. This legacy, however, is not just a mere description of her lifework, but is a testament to the way she lived her life. The way she touched the hearts of those she interacted with, the way she cared for her loved ones, and the way she lived by her principles will continue to echo through the lives of those who were fortunate to know her.
As we bid farewell to Mary "Mommary" Ogilvie-Diflavis, we hold onto the memories of her love, her laughter, her kindness, and the lessons she taught us about life. Her spirit lives on through her family and the lives she touched, forever reminding us of the power of kindness and love.
