Dear Betsy,

I want you to know that you will be missed. I have many good memories of you and dad and I along the way. One was my first concert. It was John Denver at Red Rocks! 1974 or 75 thereabouts. Every now and then a John Denver special comes on PBS, I still look for us in the crowd. I remember you making my favorite things for dinner and helping me with homework. You were always there when I came home, I was NOT a latchkey kid. I remember us watching the deer and bunnies go by in the  yard and the fox that lived under the porch. I remember picking elderberries for dad to make jelly. It made my fingers a lovely shade of purple. You always made my birthdays special somehow and holidays too. I remember all the kitties, even the one that would not come out from under the bed. Tippy, timid Tippy.

Thank you for staying by my father to the last. Thank you for honoring  his work and art work, which has helped develop (pun intended) a great photographic eye in me.

I am so glad you and David met (re-met) because I remember hearing a "happiness" in your voice when you told me about him that I had not heard before. I was so glad to have been at your wedding to him. I thank David for honoring you until the last as well.

Rest well dear lady,

Debra

Betsy was a dear friend and I will miss her.  Loved her sense of humor, she always made me laugh at the stories she'd tell.  Was so glad to have seen her a couple times in the past two years.  Definitely a special lady , we had lots of good times in Frisco.  May she rest in peace .
