Mary's obituary
If you knew Mary Nell, you knew how much she cared about her family, and was always willing to welcome any new ones with open arms. Nothing brings people together like good food, and Mary Nell knew it. Not only did she prepare food at the Eufaula High School, but she regularly hosted family dinner at her home. You could always find a fresh pound cake under her tin cloche. The secret ingredient was love, and she used it in every dish.
Love motivated her not only to feed people physically, but also spiritually. She was a baptized Jehovah’s Witness May 18th, 1963, and she talked to as many as she could about the promises in the Bible, including the resurrection hope. She had full confidence, even up until she took her last breath, that death is only temporary. She knew that she could rest easy now, because soon she’ll be reunited with the family she’s leaving behind and those that passed away before her. Her family finds comfort through these difficult times by reflecting on the great memories made over the years. But also knowing that she’s in Jehovah’s memory and will be resurrected to full strength and vigor as in her youth.
The family thanks all that have called, texted, and visited. Your thoughts, prayers, and kind words are helping us cope each day. Please feel free to post a comment below for all to be encouraged. We love you all.
