Mary (Mitz)'s obituary

It is with great sadness, but also with great rejoicing, that we announce the passing of Mary Therese Davis from this world into the eternal bliss of God's realm. Mary left this world on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at the age of 64. She is survived by her brothers, Jim, Craig, and Bob. She is preceded by her mother, Maureen, her father, Robert, and her youngest brother Glen.

Mary was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and quickly acclimated to her new surroundings by exercising a strong spirit and an immediate ability to bring happiness and friendship to those around her. At the age of 8, the family moved to Omaha Nebraska. There Mary explored, experienced, and conquered much of her new world and quickly made many new friends, some of whom she never lost contact with. Mary excelled in her education and became quite versed in song-writing, guitar, and singing, to include joining her high school acappella group where she grew as a performer as well. It was at an early age that Mary gave herself over to the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. He called to her in the early 90's and Mary left the mid-west for a life on the Pacific coast where she came to be known as Mitz. Her faith in Jesus continued to grow and flourish in California and Mitz made many very dear and close friends. The Lord blessed Mitz with the desire and the talent to minister to those she encountered, through her prayer and her music. She soon became a staple at the local drum circles in her area where she played drums and flutes, and prayed to, for, and with the people she met there, bringing many into the circle of Jesus Christ with her music and her words. In August, 2024, Mitz was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Though she battled and suffered, her love for and faith in God, and the Lord Jesus, only grew stronger. Even while in the hospital, the ICU, and finally hospice care, she never stopped bringing those around her closer to God-. Through all her trials and tribulations during her cancer battle, Mitz was constantly under the loving support, and in the presence of, her family and her deepest and dearest California friends. Even on her last full day in this world, she was surrounded by, listening to, and praying with and for her friends and family.

We will miss you dearly Mary, our Mitz, as you were the brightest of lights, the best of friends, and the most wonderful of sisters anyone could hope for. Your light was incredibly beautiful and, through you, so many found a peace, a happiness, and a love that is unparalleled in this world.

Memorial services, in the form of A Celebration of Life, will be held on March 16th, at 10:00AM, at Hart Park in Orange, CA - Address: 701 S Glassell St. Orange, CA 92866. This will be an outdoor event. Cards and gifts for those not able to attend may be sent to:
