Mitz saved my life and I will be eternally grateful.

Mitz and I lived in the same duplex for many years. we both shared an outdoor cat named kiki (stella) together. When I moved in 2019, kiki, who mitz dearly loved, stayed with her for a few years, until she had to move in 2022, where kiki came back to live with me.

In that year I had severely declining health and mobility and had suffered a lot of loss in a short period of time, ended up taking a sabbatical from my job and got in a really, really dark place with taking care of my home and my mental health. She rescued me, organized all my belongings, and renovated the entire house. I’m not sure if she hadnt been so kind to me and Kiki that either of us would still be here. Kiki misses her and I will too. Rest in peace, thank you for saving me.

My connection to Mitz was fleeting as a long distance, second cousin of sorts (our grandmas were sisters) but I saw her zest for life on her Facebook posts.  Rest in peace. Your love and kindness made a difference in this world.

My sweet Mitz, my friend and wonderful inspiration. It was great sharing a living space with you for almost 15 years. We had good times and challenges. One of my best memories is the day we left Newport Beach, drove to Palm Springs,  visited the Living Desert, then taking the airway tram up to the top of Mt. San Jacinto and playing in the snow. I also remember going to the beach on New Year's day and playing with sand dollars. It's difficult for me to say what it was that made you so special, but your commitment to Jesus was beautiful and changed lives. I love you, Mitz, and I look forward to seeing you again in heaven. Well done, good and faithful servant. ❤️

Her passing is bittersweet to a woman that I knew for over fifty years. We both were saved during the Jesus Movement in Omaha, Nebraska. We were both young and out of high school and both filled with Holy Spirit and in love with Jesus. Reaching lost souls together as evangelist, uncovering the darkness of secular music and how it affected our walk with Christ by the backmasking in music. Mary's health battle started early on in her life with fibrosis disease, so the search was on for a fix and her father found a doctor in California. She loved California and the Ocean, and she found her new home in 1989. Our lives went in different direction as I was in the military spreading the gospel around the world. We kept in contact with each other and seen each other over the years as I settled down in Washington State. Mary's whole family was musically inclined, but Mary didn't start playing drums till later in her life. Mary had a love for Jazz and percussion instruments and her favorite percussionist was (Alex Alcuna) from a jazz fusion group called Weather Report.  Her brother Glen played the drums for a youth group in his church and had a love Christ too. Her close relationship with her brother brought her to start playing the African Djembe and the bells. Mary also played the flute over the phone as she shared her praise for God it was awesome to hear. Mary had a heart for people and her life showed it with her love for life. We would call each other and pray for her family and mine as the years passed by to the very end. I prayed with her to the very end and my last prayer time with her was Thursday before her passing. Her faith never wavered in her fight against cancer, she was a strong woman in her fight. The fight is over, and Jesus came to take her home in the palms of his hands. She is home with her love of her life just praising with her flute and drum and everything she can praise the Lord with even her voice. I will miss her here on this side of eternity but one day we will all be together with the Lord and our loved ones in one big happy family. God is truly with you, good-bye till we meet again.
