Mary always was the kindest, meekest, sweetest of souls. Reconnecting through Facebook was a gift to be able to share her love of her beautiful family. Our high school days along with Marie Mahoney Thomas are now treasured memories. May she forever be free from pain and health struggles as she now lives eternally in the palm of His hand. God be with her family during this most difficult of times. Til we meet again, my friend.
Love, Donna(White)Gengenbach
This tribute/condolence was written on Facebook & was copied and pasted by Dick Lund: From Shana Canada - I wish i had seen the video info sooner because no one deserves a tribute more than my sweet Mary❤ she prayed for me and I for her. Her kindness and perseverance inspired and humbled me every time we trained. I knew she was pushing herself mentally and physically all the time just to get there. She never gave in...she never complained, and she was ready for whatever God decided. ALL she ever worried about was Dick and her children and the farm...but never herself.
I can't tell your family the privilege it was to share her life and to hear about each of you from her loving and proud perspective! I loved her! I take great comfort in knowing God had her heart and that this was not the end for Mary but the truest beginning. I will see her again❤

Dick - I remember the fun times of helping you two prepare for the new house to be. Helping pack, helping in the barn, etc.
My Swedish friend Annette and I were visiting when the twin calves were born. The three of us tramping in the mud with our boots. So much laughter and love.
But my favorite one was when Ngoc blessed Mary and Mary blessed me to come along with her to have our nails done.
To see Mary's eyes light up and admire her nails like a child discovering their hands for the first time. She was so happy. That is the image that is engraved in my mind forever. Mary's demeanor was gentle and loving at all times. What a blessing to all. That is engraved in my heart.
I've never have heard her complain. May we all learn and live the example Mary has taught us.
Be thankful for what we have: each other, the time we can mentor another person, and show the love/forgiveness as Christ has shown us! Joan & Jonathan

We used to tailgate with Mary at UVA football games while we were in grad school. I loved hearing about the ways Jason helped bring technology to the cattle operation. She did a beautiful job managing what i am sure is a tricky transition from “Mom” to friend. She was very easy to be around and i am sure all of Jason’s friends considered her a friend. I’m so sorry for your loss, Jason and so glad that you had such a spirited, force of nature as your Mom!
