Mary's obituary

Mary Louise Frazier

Mary Louise (McDade) Frazier, age 91, died May 16th, 2025 in Sherman Texas.  Born June 11,1933 in Shamrock TX, Mary was the daughter of Burl and Thelma McDade. The family lived in Duncan OK where her father worked for Halliburton Services. Mary married Bruce J Frazier November 14, 1953 in the First Baptist Church of Duncan. Together they raised two children, David Bruce and Kristen Ann.

Bruce and Mary moved to Amarillo TX in 1978 where Bruce was plant manager of a manufacturing plant for Halliburton. They were active members of the First Baptist Church of Amarillo. Mary spent the majority of her time serving the Lord in her Church teaching young women’s Sunday school, singing in the choir, and volunteering wherever she was needed. She was also involved in several organizations, including her local Philanthropic Education Organization which was dear to her heart.

Mary loved to paint and she had an amazing talent to make her home both beautiful and whimsical. She carried this talent to her own appearance and was always perfectly dressed with Texas style.

Bruce and Mary moved to Sherman, TX in 2020.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Burl and Thelma McDade, brother Laddie McDade, sister Linda McDade Merchant, and precious granddaughter Molly Kathleen Frazier. She is survived by her husband of 71 years Bruce J Frazier; son David and wife Dr. Loraine Frazier of New York, NY; daughter Dr. Kristen Frazier Burris and husband Bob Burris of Gordonville, TX; grandsons Jeffrey Rowland and Daniel Rowland along with their families; and extended families of Robert Burris and Stacy Burris. Mary adored each of the great-grandchildren, and always loved to see pictures and hear stories about their activities.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1p.m. Monday, June 9th at the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro, TX.

In lieu of flowers, a gift can be made to the Frazier Memorial fund to support the construction of a wheelchair-accessible ramp at the entrance of the Whitesboro FUMC. To donate contact jamie@whitesborofumc.org or (903)564-3156.
