I volunteered with Mary for many years and she taught me so much about the critters we care for at the Wildlife Center. We appreciated each other’s “detail orientation” when it came to daily animal care, tidying up or winter deep cleaning. I asked her, “are you sure you’re not a Virgo???” 😆 We shared a love for chocolate and songbirds but she wouldn’t hesitate to tell me I was using too many paper towels! I miss her so much. It’s not the same without her to joke around with. Rest in peace, Mary. You left a legacy to be proud of.

I was [ how you felt ] when I heard the news of Mary's passing.
I worked at WCT with Mary close to 7 years, we always had lunch together and she always brought me a wedge of cheese from Wisconsin.  She was very special to me and loved her possums and chocolate.  Mary will be missed dearly
Mary will be greatly missed by so many! I met Mary at the Wildlife Center of Texas 14 years ago. Then we discovered we were both taught in the same district. Mary and I shared teaching anecdotes. She taught me about opossums and so much about songbirds! Mary had a big heart and made an impact on everyone she met!
Mary will be greatly missed! Stan, Mary and I we're all lunch buddies at the wildlife Center. I remember she always needed her sea salt dark chocolate after her meal and her cup of milk! 💔😅 And any time we needed to use water you better made sure you did it quick to not waste water! Ha! Mary always keeping us all on check. Gone to soon and sad that I didn't get to say good bye😓 always thinking of you. 🥛🧀
Prayers for Mary’s family may God bless and keep you,
Mary was one of the first volunteers that I met when I started out 10 years ago at the wildlife center.  She was an exacting mistress, quick to point out everything that I had done wrong, but also to help me learn how to correct my mistakes and learn all of the proper techniques.  She had a lot of knowledge and a big heart for all of the animals at the center.  She will be greatly missed.
So sorry to hear about your sister,Mark! I am glad you could be with her in her last moments!
Mary was such an important part of our Texas family. She often came to support us at special events such as birthdays and weddings. We spent many holiday together. I can still hear her giving us options of what she planned to make for our potluck dinners and I remember watching her pack up the left overs for us to eat later. I will miss talking to her about her dog Jax or other animals that she was caring for. And, in a way, I will miss her reminding me to rinse and recycle the juice box that my kids just finished drinking. Her passing was unexpected and we did not get a chance to tell her how much she meant to our family. She will be truly missed.
