Mary's obituary
MARY ANN KABIA
Mary Ann Kabia of Sacramento, California was born on May 9, 1959, in Lansing, Michigan, daughter of Louis and Ione (Gregoire) Thom. She passed away unexpectedly April 26, 2025 at the age of 65.
Mary was a dedicated employee of Sutter Health and Sutter Independent Physicians in Sacramento for over 20 years, cherishing the wonderful coworkers she had. Mary also shared a special bond with Lilo, her spirited and loyal Chihuahua, who was a beloved companion for seven years and enjoyed their many snuggles.
Mary’s children were the loves of her life. From a young age, Mary instilled in her children, Aisha and Santigie, the belief that they could achieve anything they set their hearts and minds to. As a nurturing and supportive mother, Mary's unwavering love extended not only to her children but also to her large and cherished family.
Mary is survived by her sisters: Paula Busby, LouAnn Thom, Kara Kabia, Lora Thom, Ann Leifker, and Rose Leifker; and her brothers: Paul Thom, Chad Thom, Mark Andrews, Kevin Thom, and Louis Thom, Jr. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Louis Edward Thom, Sr.; her mother, Ione Eunice Thom (Gregoire); and her brother, Greg Thom.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her dear friend and neighbor, Jeanette Navarro, and her Chihuahua Dora, for their wonderful companionship to Mary and Lilo during her last years.
