In Loving Memory of Mary Jon Eubanks Tregle
Mary Jon Eubanks Tregle, age 85, lifelong resident of Louisiana, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 6, 2024 in Morgan City.
She is survived by her children, John (Trish) Eubanks, Marion Kornack, and Dian (Ron) Horswell and her grandchildren, Lori Kornack, Rebecca Kornack, and Emily (Erik) Lensink. Mary Jon adored them fiercely, showering them with love, laughter, clothes, and award-winning books.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Dr. Caroll Eubanks and Coach Alfred Tregle, and her parents Derma and John R Fowler.
Mary Jon graduated from Coushatta High School with honors. She completed her masters degree in Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and began her teaching career in elementary education near Baton Rouge. She continued in Thibodaux where she taught Child Psychology at Nichols State University. She and Dr. Eubanks retired to the farm in Rhinehart where they tended the farm and commuted to New Orleans to teach Supervisory Training Courses for the Safety Management Division of Ocean Drilling and Exploration Company (ODECO). While in Rhinehart she also served as a counselor for a time at the Vocational Technical School in Jena. She loved teaching others to “Try and catch someone doing something right!” After the death of Dr. Eubanks, she and Coach Tregle married and made their home in Morgan City where they both managed property businesses.
Mary Jon touched the lives of all who knew her with her feisty spirit and kind heart. Her legacy of love will live on through all of them.

A burial service will be held on December 12th at 11am at Butter Cemetary, Butter Cemetery Road, Forest Hill, Louisiana.
