MJ's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary "MJ" Watson, a beacon of warmth, wisdom, and grace. Born on April 25, 1959, MJ left us too soon on January 2, 2026. Throughout her life, she was known for her radiant personality, which shone brightly and touched everyone around her.

Known for her wit and intelligence, MJ was a bright light but never wanted to be in the spotlight but she was so pure in heart caring for others, that she became a light to everyone she met. Her laughter was infectious, and her generosity knew no bounds. She was selflessly devoted to her family and friends and was a constant source of support and encouragement. An avid athlete, MJ found her solace in playing tennis. Despite her love for competitiveness, she always knew when to put aside the game and focus on the people she held dear.

MJ's life was filled with remarkable achievements that reflected her values of hard work and respect. She raised three beautiful daughters — Kelly, Christine and Laura  along with her older granddaughter, Makenna— and was incredibly fond of her younger granddaughter,  AnahLiya.  MJ also dedicated 19 years of her life serving tirelessly at the hospital, where her dedication, loyalty, and dependability left a lasting impact.

MJ will be lovingly remembered as a woman of immense strength, unwavering loyalty, and boundless love. Her philosophy of mothers know best, maintaining a strong work ethic, and treating others as you'd like to be treated gained the respect of those she knew. She held strong to her faith whatever came in life and her example will continue to guide all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

We invite those who knew and loved MJ to join us in a Celebration of Life on January 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Church in Sterling Heights. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that donations be made to "Contributions" in honor of MJ at https://everloved.com/life-of…

MJ's beautiful heart and soul will live on in her beloved children and grandchildren. Her legacy, filled with love, wisdom, and generosity, will continue to inspire and guide us all.
