Mary Jane (Bruso) Kleinke 79, of De Pere, WI, previously of Prescott Valley, AZ, passed away on July 15, 2022. She was born in Menominee, MI on January 12, 1943, to the late Clement and Pearl Bruso. Mary was a 1961 graduate of Menominee High School. She also attended Bay de Noc College of Escanaba, MI, and NWTC Green Bay before moving to Arizona.

Mary had a variety of employment during her lifetime from waitressing, nurse’s aide, security guard, and also as an aide for disabled children. Mary was a loving and caring person who enjoyed spending her time talking with friends and family, playing cards, bingo, and traveling; she also loved meeting new people. Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting slippers, scarfs, afghans, and lap quilts. Mostly what she made, she gave away to family members or friends, donated lap quilts to the disabled, gave away hundreds of slippers to orphaned children, and annually made a special afghan for the Fund Raiser at West Shore Fishing Museum in Menominee, MI.

Survivors include her children Doug (Beth) Kleinke, Ann (Tim) Kleinke, grandson Jaden Kleinke, sister Carol Martin, sister-in-law Dianna Bruso, brother-in-law Bob Marfleet, and Aunt Mary Ann King, many nieces, and nephews, plus her grand dogs, Bishop, Hank, Jak.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters Barbara Marfleet, Rosalie Bruso, and her brother David Bruso.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, MI where a private memorial service will be on August 19, 2022, at 10:00 am.

We are very thankful to all of Mary’s thoughtful and caring Arizona friends that were like family to her and were there through the years when she lived there, and also helped her move back to Wisconsin. We would also like to thank the staff at Grancare Nursing Home, Green Bay Health Services, Aurora Hospital, and Aurora Hospice for taking such loving care of Mary when she was in their care.
