Mary E. Jacobson, 80, of Niles, IL, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love. Born to John and Mary Root, Mary was one of four children in a close-knit family. She met her soulmate, Allen Richard Jacobson, and their marriage (1968) blossomed into a lifetime of shared joys until his passing in 1982. Together, they were blessed with a wonderful daughter, Cheri.

In her younger days, Mary was an avid bowler. As the years went by, she found joy in the quiet pleasures of life, whether it was a challenging game of solitaire or the meticulous task of doing taxes. Mary loved spending time with her friends and family, always cherishing the moments of togetherness. Known for her sharp wit and infectious humor, Mary had an uncanny ability to lift spirits and bring smiles to those around her. Her lively personality was a beacon of joy and her quick sense of humor endeared her to many.

Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband Allen, her parents, and her sister Kathy Stanaszek. She leaves behind a treasure trove of cherished memories with her loving daughter Cheri and son-in-law Nick Bertani, her brothers John and Tom Root, her adored pets, Kitty the cat and Fiona the dog and her best friend Mary Ann Miller.

A memorial mass to celebrate Mary's vibrant life will be held on July 6, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Saint Juliana Catholic Church, 7201 N Oketo Ave, Chicago, IL 60631. Inurnment will take place at a later date at All Saints Cemetery 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Arrangements are entrusted to AquaGreen Dispositions, 708-606-0211.
