Mary's obituary

Mary Annie Ingold (née Hughes), age 86, of Franklin, Indiana passed away on January 27, 2026.

Born on July 4, 1939, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Glenn Alan Ingold; her daughter, Carolyn Marie (née Ingold) Marcum; her granddaughter, Rachael Ann Smith; her parents, John and Mable Hughes; and her brother, William Clay Hughes.

Though she endured profound loss, her devotion to her family never wavered. Mary was especially known for being a wonderful “Nanna.” She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, offering unconditional love, gentle wisdom, and a listening ear. Her family will forever remember her as a constant source of comfort, encouragement, and pride. Being a Nanna was one of her greatest joys and most cherished roles.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kay (née Ingold) Miller; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear family and friends who will remember her warmth, resilience, and enduring care for those she loved.

A Graveside Service will be held on April 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rest Haven Memorial Park 10209 Plainfield Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Franciscan Hospice House, 8414 Franciscan Lane, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237.

Mary’s life was a testament to enduring love and devotion to family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
