This has been a difficult time for me. I feel like my mom and dad lived 3 lives. There was the Collie/Dog Show life, and the Persian/Cat Show life and then retirement. It was an interesting life to live and while my mother was not always an easy woman to live with, I loved her with all my heart. In so many ways she was a genius and proved that her success with Collies was not a fluke when she went on to accomplish much the same with Persian cats.
She had a very difficult time adjusting to life after my dad passed away. I am so grateful that she found Ernie, her last life partner five years ago. He has been a blessing and is a part of our family forever. Leave it to my mother to have found 2 Saints in her lifetime.
I will miss her. Life will be a little quieter without her messages to let us know she was out walking the loop. Love you, Mom, now and forever. And Happy Birthday in Heaven.

Mary was born in Washington, DC on November 8, 1932. She married William (Bill) H Hutchinson on November 6th, 1954 and he preceded her in death. Mary became a prominent breeder and judge of Collies (Hi Vu Collies) and later, a prominent breeder of Persian cats (Kozy Cats). She was well loved and respected by all …
