Mary Carole Harrelson-Vance, 62, of Locust Grove, GA, passed away on August 14, 2023, at her home in Locust Grove, GA. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, whose impact on those around her was immeasurable.

Mary was born on February 8, 1961, in Portsmouth, VA, to Mary Jane Thompson Whitehurst and the late Carroll McNeil Harrelson. She was a 1978 graduate of Floyd E. Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, VA. Mary found joy in cooking, and solace spending time in her garden.

Mary is survived by her mother, Mary Jane (Frank) Whitehurst; Daughter, Jamie/Hope (Jay) Weiss; Sons, Rikki Vance and Sean (Rachelle) Vance; Grandchildren, Alyssa and Ava Weiss, Hailey, Mylie, Aidan, Lola, Jordan, and Rose Aleigh Vance; Brother, Charlie (Charlene) Harrelson; Step-brother, Frank Whitehurst, Jr.; Nephew, Charlie “Bean” Harrelson, Jr.; Aunt, Barbara Copeland; and several cousins.

In lieu of a memorial service, friends and family are invited to celebrate Mary in their own private way. Mary’s memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her and may they find comfort in the hope and promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
