Mary Halfpenny, 76, a luminous spirit and devoted mother, whose zest for life touched everyone around her, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025 in Knoxville, TN.
Born in Havertown, PA, Mary was a woman truly ahead of her time, living with style, compassion, determination, and a profound love for discovering new destinations. Her many travels to Europe and the Middle East reflected her passionate curiosity about the world, and her belief that every journey enriched the soul.
Mary’s kindness and selflessness were the hallmarks of a life dedicated to caring for others. Her warm spirit extended beyond her family to embrace her beloved granddogs, grandkitties, and dear friends.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Megan LaPorte Bryant and son in law Marc Bryant and Maureen LaPorte of Knoxville and Nashville, TN; devoted brother, Charles Halfpenny of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her many nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of cherished friends from around the world, who were forever touched by her generosity and love.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Charles Halfpenny, her brothers, Richard and Donald, and her sisters, Peggy and Anne. Her beloved grandogs, Lulu London and Jasmine. Their memories, interwoven with hers, continue to shine as a testament to the strength of family bonds and a legacy of enduring love.
Her life was a brilliant tapestry of experiences, filled with heartfelt journeys, both near and far. Mary’s legacy is one of courage, authenticity, and an enduring celebration of life’s beauty. She leaves behind an indelible mark on our hearts, inspiring us to seek joy in every moment and to live boldly with open hearts and adventurous spirits.
