Mary's obituary
In Loving Memory of Mary Gomez
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce that on February 23, 2026, at the age of 82, our beloved mother, Mary Gomez, born on November 11, 1943, daughter of Cirilo and Antonia Gomez, peacefully passed from this life.
Mary was the heart and foundation of our family — our safe haven, our greatest supporter, and our most trusted teacher. She taught us the true meaning of love, resilience, faith, forgiveness, and the importance of family. What we once believed were life’s mistakes, she gently showed us were stepping stones toward strength and growth.
She devoted her life to her children — Corina Wettlaufer, Victor Ayala, Frank Ayala, and Antonio Ayala II — always placing family above all else. Her love was unwavering and unconditional. Her guidance was steady. Her presence was comforting beyond words. She was known for her kindness, strength, laughter, generosity, wisdom, and quiet resilience. Her gift for brightening hearts and bringing smiles to those around her touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
Mary found her greatest joy in time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a rare and beautiful way of making every person feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing she is at rest and reunited with those who went before her. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love carried forward by her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Her grandchildren include James and Jesse Wettlaufer; Elaina and Kaden Ayala; Victoria, Melody, and Heidi Ayala; Izaak and Ilexza Ayala; and Iyzha Baker. Her great-grandchildren include Fiona Ayala and Grayson Wettlaufer.
A celebration of Mary’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Bunker’s Memory Gardens Cemetery at 12:00pm.
We love you, Mom, Nana, Grandma. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
