Mary Frances's obituary
It is with great sorrow and Heavenly joy that we announce the passing of Mary Frances Byrd (Rodgers) who left us peacefully on November 4th, 2024. Born on July 2, 1934, she was a beacon of love, hospitality, and service throughout her 90 years.
Mary (known to most as Fran) is survived and celebrated by her loving husband Bobby G. Byrd, whom she married in 1956, her son Roger Byrd, and her daughter Jan Castro. She was predeceased by her daughter, Judy Byrd Evans. She is also remembered by her 2 sisters, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Fran cherished her family deeply and would often say she gave her best in raising her children to follow the Lord.
Known for her kindness and a heart full of love, Fran was also a talented musician who found great joy in playing hymns on the piano, and singing in the church choir. Nothing pleased her more than the sound of her family singing along, filling their home with warmth and laughter.
Fran lived her life according to the Golden Rule, believing in the importance of treating others as you would wish to be treated. She taught this principle to her children, grandchildren, and those around her, leaving a legacy of lovingkindness and generosity that will not be forgotten.
As a Christ-follower, Fran’s faith was evident in her every action. She was a beacon of light in her community, inspiring all those she met with her dedication to serving God, and to sharing the Gospel with others as her life’s purpose. Fran’s spirit will live on, treasured in the hearts of those who knew her. There is no doubt that she is fully healed, and presently singing and rejoicing with her Savior in heaven and for all eternity. We will see you again soon on That Glad Reunion Day!
