Mary's obituary

Mary Black was born on July 22nd 1933 in New Martinsville, WV. She was the third oldest of 7 born to Brady and Nellie. Her sisters are Jean and Ruth Ann. Her brothers are Jim, Bob, Bill and Dave. Her childhood was spent mostly in WV, before the family moved to Ohio.

Mary went to nursing school and graduated as a Licensed practical nurse. She spent most of her career at the Veterans Administration as a nurse in Ohio and Arizona. Before that she worked at a small family practice in Chillicothe and was the assistant to the Ross County coroner.
She enjoyed making a difference in the lives of her patients at the VA and she would often share colorful stories of the veterans she served. Mary would often talk about how much she respected and appreciated the veterans’ service to their country.

Mary was active in her church. She spent many hours playing the organ for church services and was known for her dedication to the church. She was passionate about her music in service to the Lord.
If the doors to the church were open, the family was there.
