Mary's obituary
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Mary Gauden (Peters). She peacefully departed on July 10, 2023, while sleeping. Mary was born in Long Beach, CA on August 27, 1968. The daughter of the late Connie Lucas and also, raised as his own, by the (her step-father),late Joseph P Lucas. She is survived by her father, Joseph Peters. She left behind children Shane M Gauden and Courtney R Gauden, and two grandchildren. Tillian, her grandson was the apple of her eye. She dearly hoped to meet Marceline Gauden, her recently born granddaughter. She will be greatly missed by fiance, Duff Hobbs and siblings Katherine Olszewski (Peters), Debbie Stump (Peters), and John Peters. She also had many niece's and nephews that will miss her terribly.
Mary graduated from Belle Vernon Area Highschool, and shortly after, opened her own flower shop. Following this, she focused on her children, who were the greatest prides and joys in her life. Her hobbies included fishing, where she loved quietly sitting and reflecting on the stars. She was a big fan of The Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Motley Crue. She was excited about her upcoming wedding, recently announced to be on October 28th of this year. Duff and Mary cherished many years together as soulmates. More than anything, though, she loved her children and grandchildren. She would wish them to move past her death with strength in their hearts.
A celebration of her life is to be held Saturday, August 12th at 2pm. The memorial will take place at Cedar Creek, pavilon 11 in Rostraver, PA. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help cover the cost of services.
