We regretfully announce the passing of Mary "Connie" Thomas, 75, of Fort Valley, GA. Mary passed away on August 26th, 2022, due to natural causes. Mary was born to Fannie Pearl Thomas on August 21st, 1947 in Roberta, Crawford County, Georgia. An independent and vibrant personality from the beginning, Connie was an excellent student; an outstanding employee; and a great lover of dogs. Connie's enthusiasm was infectious.  After graduating Connie began a career with the Federal Government and married Jimmy Tucker. Connie retired after many successful years as a dedicated Civil Servant. Connie is survived by one brother, Mr. Marcus Thomas; one niece, Miss. Makayla Thomas; four nephews, Mr. Justin Thomas; Mr. Christopher Knolton Thomas; Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Dwayne Thomas; Mr. and Mrs. Steven R. Colbert; as well as, sister-in-law, Patrice Colbert, and a host of other great-grandnieces, nephews, and friends. Connie is also predeceased by her mother, Ms. Fannie Pearl Thomas, and her grandmother, Mrs. Zadie Mae Thomas. All memorial service arrangements are being held by Hicks and Sons Mortuary located at 801 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Fort Valley, GA 31030.
