Mary and I carpooled to work for a long time. We always argued about the heat in the car. I was always cold and she was always hot. I’d have the heater going and she would roll down the window. We laughed about it every day. My hands were the worst. I have something called rainouts disease which makes your fingers freeze. After months of these morning combats Mary showed up with something large and heavy and hot in her hands. She said put one hand on your lap and put this over it. She had made me a rice bag out of a kitchen towel and filled it with rice. It was toasty warm and so Mary to find a way to solve my discomfort. We never argued about the heat anymore. So we argued about the music! She was my best friend ever and I still miss her!
