Mary Butcher, born February 24, 1948, sadly passed away on May 5, 2025. A strong-willed and determined woman, she is remembered for her dedication, perseverance, and the unconditional love she had for her family.

Born and raised in Goshen, Indiana, Mary was a proud graduate of Goshen High School, Lincolnway East, Class of 1967. She married David G Butcher in 1979. They built a beautiful life together until his passing. Mary's resilience was evident throughout her life and she continued to inspire those around her with her strength and grace.

Mary was known for her involvement with the Elkhart County 4-H Fair, where she was able to make a significant contribution and impact. This was one of her most memorable and proudest achievements.

Mary is survived by her step-daughter, Angela Butcher, and her daughter, Annette (Butcher) Hines. She is also fondly remembered by her siblings, Bonnie (Gene) Nicolai, Patty (John) Carpenter, Dave (Deb) Detwiler, Cindy (Greg) Bontrager, Ken Detwiker, and Edward (Diane) Detwiler. She was a beloved aunt and will be greatly missed by all of her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, David G Butcher and her parents Carlisle and Lillian Detwiler. The void left by her passing will be felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who survive her.

In the wake of this loss, the family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from friends and relatives. She touched numerous lives and will be remembered for her unwavering spirit and her beautiful smile.

Mary’s celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Roth-Roeher-Ehert Funeral Home will be handling her cremation services.
