Mary's obituary

Brewer - Mary Francina Thurlow Angell Briggs, 71, passed on January 21, 2023, after a brief illness in a Bangor hospital. She was born March 5, 1951, in Bangor, daughter of Roger and Francina (Gamble) Thurlow.

She grew up in Orono and graduated from Orono High School in 1970. Following school she traveled and lived in Florida, Tennessee, and Oklahoma before returning to Maine where she lived the past 32 years. She always had an open heart and welcomed people into her life. She was happiest when working with plants and had a love for all animals.

She was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Francina Thurlow; niece, Christina Nolin; nephew, Daniel Nolin; great-niece, Tiffany Kamman; and husband, George Briggs.

She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Briggs and partner, David Rollins, of Bangor; sister, Sylvia Moose and husband, Jack, of Orono; niece, Jennifer Kamman and husband, Kenneth, of Texas; nephew, James Nolin of Texas; great-niece, Shelby Kamman and fiance, Ryan Leeson of Oregon; many beloved cousins, and friends including special friends, Libby, Duke, and Dakota; and extended family members, Tina, Korin, and Kristi.

A memorial and interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Brewer, is planned for spring.
