Personal note from Your Daughter, Lisa

It feels like the world is a little less bright without you in it.

You were amazing in every way — not just because you were my mom, but because you had this way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and important. Your home was a safe place, a warm hug that smelled like fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. No matter who walked through the door, you made them feel like family.

You taught me how to bake, though let’s be honest — my cookies will never be as perfect as yours. I can still hear your laugh when I pulled a tray out of the oven and they looked a little… questionable.

You gave your time and your heart so freely, whether it was helping at the food pantry, supporting those in need, or just sitting down and listening when someone needed a friend. You lived your life with kindness and purpose, and you made this world better in ways I don't think you even realized.

I miss you, Mom. I miss your voice, your hugs, your sense of humor, and even the way you could say so much with just a look. I miss baking with you, laughing with you, learning from you. I miss being able to pick up the phone and tell you something silly or important or nothing at all — just to hear you on the other end.

I hope you know how much you are loved. How much you are missed. And how grateful I am to be your child.
I will carry you with me every day, in every cookie I bake, in every open door, in every act of love and kindness.
You will always be my home.

I love you forever, Mom.
Thank you for being you.
