Mary Anne's obituary
Mary Anne McGowan
July 24, 1937 - October 31, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Anne McGowan on October 31, 2024, at the age of 87. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and endless love.
Mary Anne was the devoted wife of the late Jack McGowan. Later in life, she found companionship and joy with Michael Antolin, who held a special place in her heart. Born to Isobel and William McDonald, both of whom have passed, Mary Anne was a cherished sister to her siblings, including her brother Eugene McDonald (Lynn), her late brother Michael McDonald, and her beloved late sisters Teresa Morash (Tim) and Patricia Morgan (Clem).
As a mother, Mary Anne’s love knew no bounds. She was a steadfast presence in the lives of her four children: Suzanne (Larry), Dianne (John), Patsy (Nigel), and Christopher (Janet). Her compassion and gentle wisdom served as a guiding light for each of them.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Marc (Nicole), Cory (Sam), Alissa (Graydon), Joel, Lyndsay (Tiffany), Stef (Kelly), Jordan, Carissa (Rory), and Kelsey (Jay). She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life: Lily, Ethan, Owen, Lahna, Jaelyn, Cali, Kingston, Harlyn, Ty, Lou, Grace, Luca, Camden, Roman, Hudson, Wiley, Holden and Rowan. Her angel great-grandchild, Harmoni, will greet her in Heaven.
Mary Anne’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and her incredible strength. She was a source of comfort, support, and wisdom to all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and joy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory.
The family would also like to thank all the caregivers at Hillsdale Estates who took care of Mary Anne and made her feel at home with love.
A service will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church at a later date.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
