Mary Anne's obituary

Entered the world in 1934. Left it January 8, 2023.

Mom was born and raised in Puyallup, WA. She met her husband-to-be at an aunt and uncles house, when he was visiting while in the Navy. She and Albert got married in August 1953 and lived in Tacoma, WA. After the birth of their son in 1955, she became a domestic engineer. A daughter followed in 1958.

Mom and dad built a house in Fircrest, WA and moved there in 1963. The family enjoyed trailering, motor cycle riding, and fishing. Many a weekend was taken up by camping trips. Mom also enjoyed puttering in the garden, growing flowers and tons of vegetables which she conscripted her kids into helping her can. Mom also loved to craft. She made a number of quilts, afghans, beaded flowers and clothing. She was also “mom” to a number of fur babies.

Mom moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID in 2019 with her daughter and son in law and lived with them until her death.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband (Albert), son (Lee), step-grandson (Darin Proost), niece (April Richie) and many cats, a dog and a chipmunk. She is survived by her daughter (Rae Fellenberg/Lee Proost), step-grandson (Scott/Cyndi Proost), step-great grandsons (Mat/Mel Henry-Proost, Jake Proost and Taylor Proost), a step-great great grandson (Reign Henry-Proost), step-great great granddaughter (Quinn Henry-Proost) and niece (Amber Jones).

Mom was an extraordinary woman. She lived for years in pain, but carried on and enjoyed life. I hope I can be as strong, loving and full of grace as she was.

I love and miss you mom.
