Mary Ann was born in Fort Worth, Texas, an only child to Henrietta (Hennie) Mary Davis Brown (mother), Charles Seaton Davis (father), and Lee Ross Brown (stepfather). Mary Ann grew up in Houston and Dallas before earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Texas at Austin in 1965. She was married to Minor Wilson for a few years after her graduation, and enjoyed a life-long relationship with her in-laws Katherine and Burton …
