I remember Mary Ann as a strong gentle kind soul. The world and community was greatly impacted by her knowledge , dedication and care. So grateful to have known and work with her. I know she will be sorely missed

Mary Ann was a gentle, beautiful soul, with a dedicated focus on advocating for people's access for their health care concerns. She was also generous with her time in sharing gardening and composting tips the last time we visited in the middle of Stein's Garden store. Mary Ann sure loved living with her soul mate on Washington Island. Hugs to you Jerry!
Thinking of you all as you grieve for the loss of her beautiful spirit. May she continue to live on in each one of you. ❤️
Mary Ann was a beautiful soul. She took me under her wing, mentored me as I built my private practice in Speech Pathology. When I had to close my practice because I needed to reduce my hours because of family struggles, she took me on to work in her practice part-time. We attended many of the same conferences, and a few seminars together. She had such a great sense of humor. The one incident that comes to mind immediately is a seminar we went to together, I don't even remember where, but after the day was done, minds full of information we went to the bar in the hotel to unwind. She always had amazing one liners to put out there. On that particular night, her statement was "do you know that in every bar you can always find 1 guy named "Dick". Oh really. So as the night goes on and different people come into the bar, we were chatting with one fellow, he told us his name and dog gone if it wasn't "Dick". We both busted out laughing at the same time. She was always so much fun, she was so intelligent, thoughtful, easy going, but she knew how to have a good time. I feel bad that I did not see her much in her final years, but please know Jerry and family, my heart, thoughts and prayers go out to you all. She will be missed. The world has lost a fine lady.
Martin, This is a beautiful tribute to your mother, who was a beautiful person both inside and out. She worked so hard for others and made a huge difference in the world for those of us lucky enough to know her - and for people she never met. She was the best friend a person could ever have, and I was one of the lucky ones who will never forget her friendship.....since I met her and your dad in Stevens Point in 1972. My heart goes out to you, Jerry, Charity, Susan, and all your kids and grand kids. The world is a better place because she was in it.
