We regret to announce the passing of Mary Ann (Johnson) Kappes, born on April 20, 1966, who left us on August 19, 2025. Mary was a vibrant soul, characterized by her caring nature, kindness, sass, stubbornness, and a heart as vast as the universe. She left us a legacy of strength, bravery, and a boundless love for her daughters, which will continue to inspire us. Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Lori Landry and Ann Marie Bricker, and her son-in-laws, Michael Lotter and Nicholas Landry. Her sister, Deneen Myren, and brother, Wayne Johnson Jr., along with their spouses, Boyd Myren and Tammy Johnson also mourn her loss. Her sister-in-laws, Ginger Chorak, and, Linda Kyle. Her nieces and nephews, Stephanie and Jeremy Glotzbach, Trace Glotzbach, B.L. Myren, Billy (Kenzie) Johnson, Matthew (Lauren) Johnson, Tony Kyle, Tim Chorak, Jessica and Greg Flores, Jeremy and Allison Kappes, Tina and Josh Oldenberg will miss their beloved aunt. The light of her life were her grandchildren: Lacee Landry, Tyler and Kaitlyn Bricker, and Lillian Lotter. She cherished and loved them immeasurably. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyn Rae and Wayne Johnson Sr. And her Brother in law Deion Kyle. Mary Ann's personality was uniquely reflected in her love for the bold color purple, Coke a Cola, and her fondness for the music of AC/DC, Ozzy Osborne, Shania Twain, and various other rock and roll bands. A passionate crocheter, Mary Ann created intricate pieces that were as warm and welcoming as her. She deeply cared for her cat Friskie, who had been her companion for 16 years, and her beloved daughters and grandchildren. In everything she collected and every cause she supported, Mary Ann's love for her daughters was evident. Her courage, zeal for life, and her unwavering love will be fondly remembered by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. We mourn her loss while celebrating the remarkable life she lived and the love she shared with us.
