Marvin's obituary

Marvin was released from the bonds of this earth on February 25th, 2023.

He was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He is is survived by his sister: Marilyn Williford Atkins, one aunt: Gwendolyn Pearson, two nephews: Charles Marvin Atkins and Patrick Vaughan Atkins and cousins: Jimmy Pearson, Jane Pearson Burris, Joel Pearson, and Jack Pearson. He was predeceased by his parents: Vaughan Buford Williford and Nell Pearson Williford.

Marvin had a lifelong love of nature and hiking. He was always seen walking off into the nature trails. Although he eventually settled in New Mexico, he never lost his love for Oregon, where he lived for many years and considered his "real home". He left behind many photos and videos he had taken there, appreciating all the natural beauty it had to offer. And he may well have been the Oregon Ducks' most enthusiastic fan.

Marvin had a very impressive collection of high end knives, often custom forged for him. He also collected.... information. You would not want to play a game of trivia with Marvin! His friends appreciated his quick wit and extremely high intelligence and considered him truly one of a kind.
