Marvin's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marvin David Seagroves Jr on February 17, 2026. Born on January 10, 1963, Marvin leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of love, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family and passions. He was predeceased by his parents Marvin David Seagroves Sr and Edelgard Hilde Marie Seagroves.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Seagroves, whom he married in 1997, and together they formed a life filled with laughter and precious memories. He was an exemplary father to their children; daughters, Lauren Boog-Seagroves and Elizabeth Pfoh, and son, David Seagroves. His joy was multiplied by his granddaughters, Meadow and Baby (almost here) Pfoh, who he adored and cherished. Marvin was a loving father-in-law to Dakota Pfoh and Ethan Wilkerson. He had many other children he loved and cared for as his own including several of his kids' friends, boy scout troops, and foster children. Several will tell you themselves he is their second dad.
A lover of steak, peanut butter, and Whataburger, Marvin was someone who knew how to savor the simple pleasures in life. His favorite pastimes included reading the Bible, listening to music ranging from ACDC, Guns N' Roses to Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and The Statler Brothers, and watching his favorite TV Shows like Gun Smoke, Andy Griffith Show, and NCIS. He was a committed fan of McMurry University's football team, featuring his talented son, and enjoyed engaging in games of Canasta and Uno with his kids.
Marvin was a man of many talents. He was an accomplished woodworker, a skilled artist specializing in oil and acrylic painting, sketching, shading, and an adept guitarist. He loved fishing, making things for his children and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and grandchildren. His favorite movies spanned across country westerns and sci-fi genres, and he had an artist's eye for the aesthetic beauty of the world around him.
His playful spirit, silly sense of humor, and warm, caring nature made him a beacon of light in our lives. His humility and courage were lessons he imparted to us all, reminders to be better and kinder humans. He loved hard, gave harder, and cared most. Marvin was a doting father, an adored grandfather, a devoted husband, a cherished son, and a beloved friend.
Marvin's legacy lives on in his children, who carry many of his quirky traits and talents and his unfaultering pride for them. His resilient spirit, love for family, and commitment to his passions will always be remembered. We take comfort in knowing that his memory will continue to inspire and bring smiles to those who knew him. He will always live on within those he loved and watch, without worry, as we thrive for him.
