We mournfully announce the passing of Marvin Mahan, 70, of Stone Mountain, GA. Marvin passed away on February 12, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with pneumonia secondary to cancer.

Marvin, born to Mr. & Mrs. Eugene and Edna Mahan, took his first breath on December 05, 1952.  Marvin was a force to be reckoned with, graduating from Parker High School in 1971 and completed an electrician program thereafter. Marvin was employed at Georgia State University where he was able to love on and pour into our future generation.  

While Marvin never married or had children of his own, his nephews and nieces meant more to him than words can describe. The exchange would include, but not limited to playful banter and sweets. We will miss him dearly. 

Marvin was predeceased by his father: Eugene Mahan, mother: Edna Mahan, sisters: Loretta Hagler-Marshall and Donna Rayford, brothers: Eugene Mahan Jr and Herbert Mahan and nephews: Danny Jones, Lonnell Mahan and Kenneth Rayford. He is survived by his brothers: Edwin (Betty) Mahan, Robert (Stephanie) Mahan, Donald Mahan, sister: Aletha Roberson and a host of nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at Southern Cremations and Funerals on Monday, February 23, 2023 with viewing from 2:00pm-3:00pm followed by ceremony from 3:00pm-5:00pm.
