Marvin Duane Billings, born on October 9, 1948, passed away at the age of 69 on July 7, 2018 in Sycamore IL. Marvin was the beloved husband of Karen Billings. He is survived by his six children: Kathy (Brett) Maxwell, Scott (Tracy) Billings, Stacey (Keith) Zupec, Staci Franco, John Sloat, and Christopher Sloat. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Amber Sloat (Luis Lopez), Amanda Brownell (Kyle Zehender), Ryan Zupec, Logan Billings, Kyle Zupec, Isabella Franco, Christian Sloat, Kiera Maxwell, Kyler Sloat, Brenna Sloat and one great grandchild, Noah Sloat. He also leaves behind his cat, Frankie. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Lucille Billings, along with his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Zupec. Marvin served in the Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart along with several other medals for his bravery during the Vietnam War. He was a tool and dye maker by trade. Marvin enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed. Friends and family members are welcome to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, July 17 at 12:30 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln National Cementery, 27034 South Diagonal Road, Elwood, Illinois, 60421.
