Marvellee Moody Cariaga passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 31, 2024. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Luisa Cariaga and Theo Siegel, son and daughter-in-law Daniel Cariaga and Paula Cizmar, nieces Robin Lassen, and her husband David , and Janie Walker; sister-in-law Jeanne Moody; grandnieces Amanda Shidler and Jamie Walker Hooker, and many friends. She had an international career as an opera singer where she performed with opera companies in San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Bogota, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam, Vancouver, Madison, Spoleto and Chautauqua. She was a founding artist of Los Angeles Opera. The family requests donations be made to Pacific Symphony in Irvine, California. There are no memorial services and her burial at sea is private.
