Marty's obituary

The ace of our family, Mr. Martin "Marty" Robins, 78, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away on June 20, 2022, to join the bridge game above.

Marty was born on April 23, 1944, to the late Annette and Irving Robins in Ft. Smith, AK. He grew up in Roselle, NJ, and was a proud graduate of Abraham Clark High School. Marty loved causing mischief with his beloved father, biking to Gene Saks' house (his best friend of almost 70 years), and using tokens to take the train to the Bronx to cheer on the New York Yankees.

He attended Monmouth University and graduated in 1966 with a degree in Business Administration. A proud brother of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity, college was where Marty learned a game that would change his life forever - bridge.

Through that game, he met his wife of 36 years, Debbie Robins, and had two children. They moved to Florida in 1992 and became fixtures at Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers, and Florida Marlins games.

If Marty wasn't at the bridge club, you could find him lying on his beloved couch, reading the latest great American novel while watching a sporting event. He loved taking his daughter to movies, going to the horse track with his son, and bickering with his wife.

He was the cherished father and father-in-law to Rachel and Ian and Sarah Robins and adored gramps to Ruthie and Tyler Robins. Additionally, he is survived by his first cousins Phyllis and Jim Hundley, Roger and Ro Miller, and Gerald Miller, in-laws Lee and Michael White,  Nussie and the late Joyce Vineberg and Shelley and Myron Rosner, many nephews and nieces, countless friends and bridge players. Special thanks to Trustbridge for their loving care and compassion in keeping Marty comfortable for the last three months.

Marty was a treasured member of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) and a Platinum Life Master, a feat he shares with .25% of other ACBL members.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, June 22, at Beth Memorial Chapel Gardens in Boynton Beach.

Instead of flowers, the Robins family asks that you visit Marty's memorial website (https://everloved.com/life-of…) to share memories and donate in his honor.
