Background
Dear Friends and Family,
I am writing to you today to let you know about the loss of our mother, Martina Villa Alfaro. Our mother’s passing was sudden and unexpected. She passed away on March 12th, 2020 at her rehabilitation center where she was expected to recover quickly.
Our mother was an energetic and hardworking woman who was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. She immigrated to Los Angeles, CA in the 70’s, where she met her husband Ismael Alfaro Jimenez. The two were married from 1987 to the day she passed. The lesson she left us with is to “Be Your Unique Self”.
Our mother lived her life creating and expressing herself through sewing, craft making, and music. In her earlier life, she worked as a seamstress making beautiful dresses and women’s apparel. Her favorite craft was hand making shiny, dainty, bracelets with rhinestones and pebbles. Everything beautiful in her life needed to sparkle and was a representation of her eccentric way of living. But what we will miss most is her smile and seeing her rush to the dance floor on holidays to show off her dance moves. She loved to have a good time and dance the night away.
Her sudden passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and today we humbly ask for support with laying our mother to rest. Furthermore, at this time we do not know the specific date or time for the proceedings due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 and the provision of allowing more than 10 people to gather.
I’ve started a fundraiser to collect donations for our mother, Martina Villa Alfaro’s funeral service. We will need to pay all funeral costs by March 31st, 2020.
Please consider contributing if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for any contribution during this difficult time.
Martina is survived by her husband; Ismael Villa; her children, Lidu Jimenez, Andy Chavez, Blas Chavez, Reyna Chavez, and Martin Villa.
With love,
The Villa, Chavez, and Jimenez Family Contribute
