Maria Juventina Hernández Francisco, better know as, Martina Bocanegra gained her angel wings on February 17, 2023 at Bascom Hospital in San Jose, CA. Martina was 86 years old. She passed peacefully surrounded by her husband, 6 of her children, and her youngest granddaughter. 

Martina's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here.
Martina was a noble and humble person. She was an amazing cook and a woman of faith. During her lifetime, she enjoyed going to farmers markets, shopping, going on adventures, being surrounded by flowers, cooking and attending and/or streaming the daily mass. 

Martina is survived by her husband, Jesus Bocanegra, her children, José, Martin, Agustin, Juana, Mario, Susana, her 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Martina was predeceased by her son, Ernesto. 

Services will be held at Oakhill Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA  95125. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, There will be a visitation starting at 9am-4pm in Room A, 4:30pm-6pm in the Chapel of Roses, and an Evening Service from 6pm-8pm in the Chapel of Roses. On the following day; Thursday, March 16, 2023, there will be a funeral service starting at 10am in the Chapel of Roses. At 11am, the burial processes will begin. We kindly ask that you refrain from wearing black and wear white or a light/sky blue instead. 

Any flower arrangements to be sent to Oakhill Funeral Home and Memorial Park a day before you’d like to see/have them displayed.*

There will be a reception to follow at 2144 Rexford Ave, San José, CA 95128 at 1pm. 

Our family would like to thank each and every single one of you who have been with us during this difficult time. All the support we have received is remarkable and we truly do not have the words to show our appreciation, thank you!

Maria Juventina Hernández Francisco, mejor conocida como, Martina Bocanegra ganó sus alas de ángel el 17 de Febrero de 2023 en el hospital Bascom en San Jose, CA. Martina tenía 86 años. Pasó en paz rodeada de su esposo, 6 de sus hijos y su nieta Heidi.

La vida de Martina parecería demasiado corta para muchos, pero los que tuvimos la dicha de ser tocados por ella comprendemos que su existencia y la huella que dejó en nuestros corazones supera la cantidad de tiempo que estuvo aquí. Martina era una persona noble y humilde. Era una cocinera increíble y una mujer de fe. Durante su vida, disfrutó de ir a los mercados, ir de compras, vivir aventuras, estar rodeada de flores, cocinar y asistir y/o transmitir la misa diaria. A Martina le sobreviven su esposo Jesús Bocanegra, sus hijos: José, Martín, Agustín, Juana, Mario, Susana, sus 15 nietos, 25 bisnietos y 2 tataranietos. Martina falleció antes que su hijo, Ernesto.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo en Oakhill Funeral Home and Memorial Park en: 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. Miércoles, 15 de Marzo de 2023. Habrá un velorio a partir de las 9am- 4pm en el cuarto A (Room A), de  4:30pm- 6pm en Capilla de las Rosas (Chapel of Roses), y un Servicio Vespertino de 6pm a 8pm en la Capilla de las Rosas. Al día siguiente; El Jueves 16 de Marzo de 2023 habrá un funeral a partir de las 10am en la Capilla de las Rosas. A las 11am comenzarán los procesos del entierro. 

Le pedimos amablemente que se abstenga de vestir de negro y en su lugar use blanco o azul claro.
