Can't believe it's been two years since we lost Marty.  I'm oftern tempted to give him call as we use to speak to each other weekly, then I realize sadly that's he's no longer with us.   We'll always have those cherished memories which I hold on to tightly. I'm still adjusting to life without Marty and imagine I will be for some time to come.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to Marty. I know he would be thrilled to hear about the movement of using alternatives to animal testing both at FDA and NIH. His work has been the foundation for this to happen. Thank you Marty for everything you have done for the field. We miss you

I will miss Marty so much. He loved Birds and bird books! He had a bird clock that chirped different bird sounds at each different hour. And he loved helping animals! He was a very valuable asset to John Hopkins and other places he worked at as he focused on decreasing animal testing and decreased using animals for research such as chimps and rabbits for product development which saved many many animals.
I am Marty's older brother.  We grew up together in Ozone Park, Queens, NY.  We spoke by phone practically every weekend.  I miss those  calls very much.  When he passed it was devasting and I am still coming to grips with his death.  See you on the other side bro.

Last Lunch with Marty — with Bernie Unti and Kathleen Kinsolving
This is the year I met Marty.  He became one of my best friends.  I miss him very much.  We had a beautiful and close relationship that I will always cherish.  One of my other best friends was Luisa, whom Marty dated in the 1980s.  She passed away in 2014.  May they share beautiful moments in Heaven together.
Although we went to the same high school, we didn't actually meet until university where we became friends. Over the next 50 years we lost touch and reconnected at least twice. He was a good friend, and it was always a pleasure seeing him twice a year when I visited family in Maryland. I marveled at how much he had accomplished in his lifetime and the number of friends and admirers he leaves behind is a testament to the man he was.
