Martin's obituary
Martin Reiser, 90, of Plano, Texas entered heaven peacefully on December 20, 2023. Martin was born on November 13, 1933 to Martin & Ethel (Flinn) Reiser in Jacksonville, Illinois. He graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Murray College in Murray, Kentucky and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958.
Following his military service, Martin worked as a Certified Public Accountant. He became a co-founding partner of Reiser, Jennings & Co., P. C. in Davenport, Iowa and Reiser, Chinski & Co., LLP in Bloomington, Illinois. He also co-owned The Green Thumbers, a landscape and garden center in Davenport, Iowa. Martin maintained membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Martin assisted several charitable organizations: he served as President of the Noon Lions Club in Davenport, Iowa; President of St. Vincent de Paul in Frisco, Texas; and became an Honorary member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Martin founded Pro-Life Articles, educating churches with news aimed at protecting the unborn.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Wanda; his brother, Herschel; and his infant son, Phillip Christopher. Martin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara and their children, Julie (Wayne) Smith of Allen, Texas; J. Michael (Kathy) Reiser of Chandler, Arizona; and Patrick T. (Terri) Reiser of Chandler, Arizona; his grandchildren, Jacob Reiser of Chandler, Arizona; Samantha (Kory) Smith of Tempe, Arizona; Caleb Bynum of Allen, Texas; and Rebekah Bynum of Allen, Texas; and his two great-granddaughters, Addilyn and Amelia Smith of Tempe, Arizona.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Martin on January 3, 2024 at 10:30 a.m., preceded by the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas.
Martin’s passion was to protect innocent unborn lives. He spent the last 10 years of his life publishing Pro-Life Articles to 22,000+ churches for their church bulletins.
