Jacob, our son, has always been one of the greatest treasures of my life. Marty and I went our separate ways before Jacob was born. Jacob always wanted a relationship with his dad, but Marty struggled to show up in the way he needed. That absence left its mark, but Jacob has grown into a strong, compassionate young man in spite of it.

Marty and I briefly reconnected around 2012–2013. At that time, he was working as a car salesman, seemed to be doing well, and still had the same warm smile he had the day we met. He was full of energy and seemed genuinely happy. While things didn’t work out between us, he always remained a friend and close in my heart. I do miss the good times we shared, and he will be missed.

I met Marty through his mother, who worked with me at Wags Restaurant. She told me he had come in one day, noticed me, and asked about me. She ended up introducing us. Sadly, she passed away while I was pregnant with our son, Jacob. Though I only knew her for a short time, she was a truly wonderful woman.
In response to "How did you first meet Marty?"
Marty was a free spirit who loved being around people. He had a larger-than-life personality and was often the center of attention wherever he went. He enjoyed laughter and the kind of spontaneity that made him unforgettable to those who knew him well.
