Martin's obituary

Martin Duran, loving father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 59 on March 18th, 2022 in Mckinney, Texas.

Martin was born Martin Javier Duran on February 16, 1963 in El Paso, Texas to his late parents, José Luis Duran and María Teresa Cobian. Martin was raised in Leon, Guanajuato Mexico until his move back to the states in 1985.

Always the fun loving dad, Martin loved to take his daughters to Disneyland as much as he could, enjoyed driving motorcycles, and of course, loved going to concerts. And while Martin's favorite pastime was definitely listening to 80's music and watching Michael Jackson videos on YouTube, his favorite thing above all was to share his immense love for Jesus Christ. Its this love that called him to serve as a Spanish speaking minister for the Church of Christ in Murrieta, Ca from 1992-2003.

Martin is survived by his daughters, Alma (Adam) Friedrich of Tyler, Texas and Sarai (Christopher) Lyons of Princeton, Texas, as well as his six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Teresita and brother Rogelio. He leaves behind 4 brothers and sisters.

A private service will be held on May 6th, 2022 in his hometown of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico where his ashes will be interred alongside his late brother, Rogelio Duran (59), who passed away on January 25th, 2021.

Martin's daughters would like to thank each one of you who has supported them during this most difficult time. While Martin may be gone, Martin's legacy will live on forever in his children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Martin’s family asks that you please complete an act of kindness in his honor or share your favorite memory of him on his memorial page.
