We are shocked and upset by the sad news of Martin’s passing. Dawn and the children must be devastated but we hope they can take solace from the affection that so many people had for Martin.

I first met him in 1998 when I was working for WESTEC in Bristol on a project called Bridging The Gap for which Martin provided research and data. However our personal friendship was cemented and forged in the Black Horse Clapton in Gordano over numerous pints, laughs and conversations joined by Dawn and my wife Julia.

Although we moved back to Chesterfield in 2006 we have never forgotten those happy times and never will.

A wonderful man whose loss will be mourned by many.

Martin I will keep in my heart of the wonderful and fun times our family had with you in Melbourne you were a true gentleman and my heart is breaking rest in peace you were a special soul
